So I took our photos with me to work and instead of finding nice pictures of all of us where we are very very beautiful (as always) I decided, why not find some really nasty ones that should be burned so no one will see it?! Here it comes, enjoy! ;) I really found it very easy to find extremely bad pictures of me but to find some of Kolla was very hard (fucking bitch), I'm sorry Lilja you are like me we just sometimes aren't camera friendly! And boys, see for yourselves about you... But It's so funny looking at the pictures because it's always like in the beginning of the night we all look so nice but in the end we are discusting!

So, as you probably already know, on friday we had very important national holiday, "Jaanipäev", in english it is called Saint John ´s Day. It is very popular national holiday in our country and also in the future it will be one of the main holidays of Istland. So, girls, be prepared...:). I found some basic information from internet and I would like to share it with you, because you have to know everything about Jaanipäev! We will check your knowledge and if you fail, we will spank you!:))) I know that probably you like get punished...:):).

In Estonia, Jaaniõhtu (Midsummer's Eve) and Jaanipäev ("St John's Day") are the most important days in the calendar. The short summer seasons with long days and brief nights hold special significance for the people of Estonia. Jaanipäev is celebrated in the night between 23rd and 24th of June, few days after the Summer Solstice, when night seems to be non-existent.

Jaanipäev was celebrated long before the arrival of Christianity in Estonia, although the day was given its name by the crusaders. The arrival of Christianity, however, did not end pagan beliefs and fertility rituals surrounding this holiday.

For Estonians, Jaanipäev celebrations were merged with the celebration of Võidupüha (Victory Day) during the War of Independence (1918-1920) when Estonian forces defeated the German troops on 23 June 1919. After this battle against Estonia's traditional oppressors, Jaaniõhtu and the lighting of the traditional bonfires became linked with the ideals of independence and freedom.

Jaanipäev marks a change in the farming year, specifically the break between the completion of spring sowing and the hard work of summer hay-making.
Understandably, some of the rituals of Jaanipäev have very strong folkloric roots. The best-known Jaanik, or midsummer, ritual is the lighting of the bonfire and the jumping over it. This is seen as a way of guaranteeing prosperity and avoiding bad luck. Likewise, to not light the fire is to invite the destruction of your house by fire. The fire also frightened away mischievous spirits who avoided it at all costs, thus ensuring a good harvest. So, the bigger the fire, the further the mischievous spirits stayed away.
Midsummer's eve is important for lovers. Among Estonian fairy tales and literature there is the tale of two lovers, Koit (dawn) and Hämarik (dusk). These two lovers see each other only once a year and exchange the briefest of kisses on the shortest night of the year. Earth-bound lovers go into the forest looking for the flower of the fern which is said to bloom only on that night. Also on this night, single people can follow a detailed set of instructions to see whom they are going to marry.

On Jaaniõhtu, Estonians all around the country will gather with their families, or at larger events to celebrate this important day with singing and dancing, as Estonians have done for centuries.

This time me and Tarvo were invited to the summerhouse of one of our friends. We made fire, went to sauna, made sport, drank beer and had fun. We had a nice weekend.

Hello people of Istland, I have decided to honour you with my thoughts! Right now I'm working and trying to keep awake but it hasn't been working so far so what better way to stay awake than surfing the internet....
These days I'm hooked on Beverly Hills because they show reruns when I'm working, I'm embarressed to tell people that because it's such a lame show! Brandon Walsh dates a new girl in every episode and they are always poor or geeks or somebody he can save, tonight he dated this spanish girl who was hiding in a witness protection program because she had witnessed a shooting (always happening to me) and two episodes ago he was dating a girl who had a baby and he just had to save her....but the funny thing is in the end nobody wants him, he does everything for these girls and they always dump him in the end!
For the next 2 weeks I'm living in my brothers apartment taking care of his cat while he's sunbathing somewhere. Ok so the cat is a phsyco, he seem's like this relly nice cat follows you everywhere and purrs when you scratch his belly. After being there for 2 days I have hickies all over because the cat thinks i make milk ot of my arms and my face so he sucks on me and I also have scratches and bites all over because it attacks me ones a day!!! Yesterday I was going to sleep after the nightshift and out of nowhere the cat jumped on my arm and bit me and I had to shake it off and to save myself I fled into the bedroom and closed the door and stayed in there for the next 5 hours or so trying to get some sleep while he was outside the door scratching it like to tell me "I'm going to kill you when you come out"! But when I came out he looked so innocent and I forgave him but then he attecked me again, bastard...I've always said you can't trust cats!

It´s not funny

One day Koffi came. It made me really happy. At last. I had been waiting so long for that. But then she dedicated only few moments to me. But I was still truly excited, because that was lot more than usually. I understand, she has lot to do, she is the queen. She had to go, she had some important meeting with really significant people, she told me, they are going to barbeque. Yes.

But, can you see the greatness here - I have spoken with Queen. Me, Tarvo, estonian, I have spoken with Queen. This was my moment.

Then the other day I had a chance to talk with Susserdaja - Girl with the Name, she is so nice and friendly and, I don´t know, I am just charmed, I just feel that´s me, that´s what I want to do - be in contact with her, read her thoughts and, yes, she is in my heart.

And now, few days ago, Kolla, the Goddess sent me a sms. What did you think? Of course, from heaven, she is the Goddess, she lives in heaven. Small thing, small thought makes a big difference!

So, I had have some contacts with girls from Iceland, I had some before also. And they have been so deep that I have slowly learned to love this untouchable, mysterious country and its inabitants what is most important. They have had a big influence to me. And now I am sucking and swallowing. I am sucking all what is connected with Iceland and what can I catch, then I am swallowing and putting this somewhere inside me, I am keeping all this there. And this area I have booked for Iceland is growing constantly. And I am hungry now, really hungry, I want more, I need more.

In my little hometown here was opened one exhibition. Paintings. Artist is from Iceland, named Halldora Helgadottir. So, I catched this also, this is in me now. Actually I really hoped there will be some paintings about nature and there was, but not enough. Flowers in summer. Not very colourful I have to say, white and gray. And there was one painting, where was your language on and I recognized word ´dagar´, it felt good. And some other - naked women in abstractionism imaged on them. Hi, istlanders!

I have nothing to do...I am at work and trying to pretend that I am working:). Lilja already knows but other icelanders probably not...on Monday took place very important international meeting! Probably the most ironical guys of the world met! We had waited for this meeting for a long time and finally it took place...finally one of our friends, Erki came to visit his homeland (he lives and works in Luxembourg) . We call ourselves as THE BIG 4 ...(incredible 4, amazing 4...or whatever:) ) Nobody can stop us! We will put you down! Monday was full of beer and humour for us. Someday, girls, you will meet us all...if you think that me and Tarvo are funny, then you should meet four of us....

Finally I can do this after some tecnical problems.. What can I say, computers hate me!! ( I know what you are going to say now guys.. the problem is not the computer, its the person sitting in the chair.. blablabla!! ) But anyway thank you Tarvo for helping me and thank you Tanel for this interesting story about your virginity.. You know, I´ve heard that you could get it back if you just wait couple of years. But who wants to do that I ask myself!! (And maybe it´s just if girls do it.. I don´t know, I´m not professional like somebody I know;))

Happy swimming pool hunting...

The question today is: How can one lose a swimming pool?
Just ask me I'm the expert, last 3 days I've been looking for the swimming pool where I live (suburb of Reykjavík). Ok so I see the signs and I know where it is but still I can't find my way there....2 times I was driving and when I didn't find it I went to another swimming pool further away. Today I was walking and my sister had described to me where I should walk to find it and that it should only take like 10-15 min but somehow it took me 30 min and I got lost!!!! So the final decision is that I think it's like one of those ghost swimming pools that everybody is talking about and I am so clever that I found it...but I don't like it and I'll do my swimming elsewhere from now on!

Well my life is so interesting these days, I sleep during the day and work during the night! What used to be beer day (wednesday) has turned into boring workday. I can say with meaning that I don't really miss Denmark as such but I miss you guys and I miss being free of worries! Today I'm all grown up; working lady (well, not a hooker), have applied for university(but I don't really wanna go) and I can't think of anything else, sorry! Tarvo I can see you're preparing to move to Iceland, reading about Icelandic politics...now you just have to educate Tanel about it then we will all buy a big house and live together and have that orgy we were always talking about but never followed through....;)
I'm sorry I can't say something fun but it's depressing working during the night so I'll try to write something during the day next time....well well reruns of Beverly Hills are waiting for me!

Ice everywhere

Are we there yet? How many days I have to wait for you, I think it's enough already. It's time.

Actually, we just talked about one fenomen. After we arrived home, there is Iceland everywhere. For example, today I heard that Iceland, Norway and one other country is going to give some money to support our cultural heritage (read: two estonians are going to get some resources for keeping alive our beer drinking tradition) and stuff like that (thank you, girls) and now I just read that you are not satisfied with your prime minister Halldor Asgrimsson and you are going to have new one, guy called Geir Haarde (hm, I think, it should be like Haardsson or smth.) and with him of course whole new government.

Iceland, Iceland.

And of course, Kofi, Kolla, thank you, I am a real fan of your writing talent.

And finally today's aphorism:"Government, which is raising a beer price, won't last long" (estonian old saying).

So, only conclusion I can make is that this Halldor is a monk.

Dog's talk

My far-far-away princesses!

Lilja, estonian dogs (like their masters) are extremly smart, they learn these "istu", "lama", "anna käppa" on the first or sometimes, yeah, on second day. But there is a little more difficult thing to learn, it takes at least three months to teach this one. But it's very useful. So, if you are done with basics move to next level and teach your dogs:" Too õlut". I think it's easier when you are showing it first - you have to go to a fridge, open it really slowly, so that dog can follow you, then you should take a beer and bring it back to the living room. That's what this order is all about:"Too õlut" - easy command, but quite difficult procedure. But, don't worry, you have time, we will need it, I don't know, maybe after two years.

Actually it's quite fine to be back, I have met with some friends and I already had a little waterpipe evening with my little sister and her mates. And it's peacful, beautiful here, summertime, no drinking just pure life. And the truth is, to lose other things, this hojskole, this country, whatever, it's very fine by me, I don't give a shitta and even if I have said that, you have said that, I want to say it again - I am going grazy, because missing you and I have a prove down here, I don't think it's normal what I am doing.

So, it's because of you Lilja, you gave me idea, and now I am also teaching something to one dog. One part of my new command is quite easy for him, at the start I saw, he understood and believed this sentence right away, but he has a little bit hard time with completing this task, because he has to say:"Icelandic girls are from fairytale" and he couldn't pronounce it at first, but he is improving and soon he will be a professional. Yeah, you may say, it's so simple and short, but I hope you understand, usually dogs are just listening and then following the orders, but now he has to speak and that's not so easy to do.

I told him to say it to estonian cute-ass guys, but as you can see, he is flirting, and trying to impress a bunny.

Ohh, it´s so good to hear from you again. I was watching the picture from you earlier and realized that I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! We have also been talking alot about you and telling people how great you are.

These days we are doing nothing. Hófí and Kolla were at the University earlier today trying to pick something to study. We, Icelandics, are meeting on Saturday to have a beer and go downtown. It´s gonna be strange not to have you guys with us!!! We will miss having you with us!!! It´s so strange being back in Iceland. Nothing has changed really and we are just waiting to go back to work!!! Nothing special. I want to be back in Odder and do nothing, just talk to all the people, specially you guys, and drink a beer!!!

I am in Tallinn, in my sweet homecity, where I belong. Actually it is quite strange to be back...I don`t know how to behave, what to do...like a stranger....I just walk around and watch people.:)), I think I have gone mad....I try to find some activities and not to think back about the time that we had for last 5 months...it is a little bit sensitive issue rightnow.. Today I spoke with Choongseok, Roland and Yifei in msn. Roland and Choongseok are going to 2 week boat-trip with Kresten. They are going to sail to Amsterdam...damn..lucky bastards!:)))) (and lucky dutch girls..:)). I wish I could be with them. Yifei is going back to china and then he will return and start studing in Roskilde.

By the way, I think, all our friends are already sick listening about some mysterious icelandic girls with who we had amazing time together:). And of course, the first thing I did when I came home, I showed our students picture to my mother and I especially pointed out you, icelandic girls. :)

From next week I will go back to work. So that is my story..
By the way, icelandic girls...., I think you have some explanations to do...you have to explain to one of my female friends, why are there red marks on my neck...:))))))))
